Clinical Therapist


Jennifer Denkers, LPC,
is a clinical therapist who received her Masters in Professional Counseling from Argosy University and her Bachelors degree from Arizona State University. She is independently licensed with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.

Jennifer specializes in the treatment of emotional and binge eating disorder. She has co-facilitated TheHealthyWeighOut retreats with the program co-founder, Dr. Ashley Southard, since the program’s inception in 2014, and has provided one-on-one individual therapy to many of the program’s participants.

Her background includes providing outpatient individual and group therapy to adults, including those with severe mental illness; couples; and adolescents. Jennifer is trained in CBT, EMDR, DBT, and Mindfulness-based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; however she utilizes a variety of interventions throughout the therapeutic process. She has worked extensively with clients suffering from eating disorders, including binge eating, emotional/compulsive overeating, bulimia, and anorexia. She also has extensive experience working with people affected by bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, Borderline Personality Disorder, PTSD, and trauma.

Jennifer enjoys working with a wide range of clients, particularly those suffering from a history of trauma, self-defeating behaviors, and problems with interpersonal relationships. She believes in empowering clients in a safe, nurturing environment with a collaborative approach that is individualized to meet the needs of the client. Jennifer is accepting and non-judgmental with her clients as she guides them toward building a meaningful life that is in service of their values. She is dedicated to helping her clients heal from the emotional pain they have endured by helping them connect with their emotions in a safe way. She values being able to be a part of this process.
