Brandi Koch, MA, RD is a Registered Dietitian and Lead Dietitian at A New Beginning. Brandi believes that the importance of meeting the client where they are and working toward the goal of recovery is vital to the therapeutic process. Brandi utilizes an empathetic, non-diet approach to achieve life-long behavior change. By enabling her clients to make peace with food, they are able to experience freedom around food and learn to trust their body. Brandi is a strong proponent of the philosophy that all foods fit!
Brandi specializes in treating Eating Disorders Nutritionally, Intuitive Eating, Mindfulness, Disordered Eating, Chronic Dieting and Pre- and Post-Bariatric surgery. Brandi has worked in a variety of eating disorder treatment settings over the years including PHP, IOP and as an outpatient dietitian. This has given her extensive experience working with clients at all stages of recovery.
Brandi’s nutrition philosophy includes eliminating “good food/bad food” rules, increasing variety of food choices, creating flexibility with food, challenging distorted food beliefs, increasing mindfulness with food, and increasing body positivity.
Brandi is a Registered Dietitian in the State of Arizona. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Coordinated Dietetics from Washington State University. She also earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, graduating magna cum laude from Valparaiso University. Brandi chose to further her education to refine her treatment methods in the counseling of eating disorders including body image, binge eating disorder, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and disordered eating. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and The National Eating Disorders Association.
