Our Unique 3-Pronged Approach Overcomes Emotional & Binge Eating

Whether choosing to participate in our 6-week Emotional & Binge Eating classic “Jump Start” level of programming, or choosing to start more slowly in our 6-week “Gentle Start” level of programming, participants engage in our concentrated small group retreat format that includes 6 full days of learning in the following areas:

 

An Exciting Format of Innovative Programming, Delivered in a Powerful Outpatient Structure

Emotional Health:

Our Emotional component explores the emotion-driven and psychological aspects of your overeating, emotional eating, and/or binge eating behavior.

During our program’s three 2-day retreats, our educational and experiential Emotional learning sessions will teach you how to change your relationship with food, with an emphasis on developing effective emotional coping skills that replace the need to reach for food.  In addition to skill building, we will gently explore the many underlying emotional processes (i.e., avoidance of conflict, passivity in relationships, emotional overwhelm) that may be driving your misuse of food. Weekly at-home activities additionally provide the opportunity for a deeper, more personal exploration of your emotional relationship with food.

Physical Health:

Our Physical fitness component helps you to start moving again, in a manner that is effective and enjoyable! And which helps you to incorporate consistent, moderate physical activity into a new balanced lifestyle that promotes health and sustainable weight loss.

During our three 2-day retreats, participants engage in FUN gentle group activities that are designed to (re)connect you with the joy of moving. Participants registered for the “Jump Start” level of participation are, additionally, invited to join up to 4-weekly small group HWO alumni exercise sessions at no additional charge!

Additionally, participants registered at this level will meet for 2 weekly, one-on-one PRIVATE exercise sessions (for a total of 12 sessions over the 6 weeks) with our personal trainer in our PRIVATE Intuitive Exercise Studio, where you will learn how to effectively move your body in ways that promote strength, flexibility, and healthy weight loss.

Nutritional Health:

Our Nutritional component explores the many nutritional and physiological components involved in your relationship with food, food cravings, overeating tendencies – and helps you achieve healthy, balanced eating for long-term, successful weight management!

During our three 2-day retreats, educational and experiential nutrition learning sessions explore the science of nutrition and food cravings, and will teach you how to nourish your body without ever dieting again! Letting go of chronic “dieting mentality” and the development of “Intuitive Eating” skills is also emphasized.  

Participants registered for the “Jump Start” level of participation will, additionally, meet for weekly one-on-one individual nutrition sessions with our registered dietitian (for a total of 6 sessions over the 6 weeks).

During these individualized sessions, our dietitian will thoroughly review your personal struggle with food and weight and will work alongside you to guide, direct and teach you how to achieve your personal weight loss and health goals.

 

Two Flexible 6-Week Program Options to Help you Succeed!

We understand that not every person is ready to engage in the process of change at the same level of participation.  Therefore, TheHealthyWeighOut offers two, flexible program options that allow you to engage in the process of change, at the level of participation that feels most comfortable to you.

Both options include participation in our three 2-day retreats that occur throughout the 6-weeks; at the beginning, middle, and end of the program.

 

 

People who opt for the Gentle Start level only attend the three 2-day retreats. Thus, your only time commitment at this level is 6 days.

People enrolled in the Jump Start level will attend the three 2-day retreats, plus 6 individual sessions with the Registered Dietitian and 12 individual sessions with the personal trainers. These participants are also given the bonus of attending up to 4 small group workouts throughout the week, if they want.
